THE $340 DEAL
The Hotel del Coronado celebrates the 50th anniversary of the movie “Some Like It Hot,” featuring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon -- and the historic hotel.
The deal: The “Mingle With the Stars! Some Like It Hot Weekend Celebration Package” includes accommodations and tickets for two to several weekend events. On Friday evening, attend a reception with a chef’s tasting menu and a special cabaret performance with Broadway performer Nancy Anderson. Saturday evening includes a buffet dinner and a presentation by Curtis. The package rate, Sept. 18-20, starts at $340 per night (pre-tax and based on double occupancy); the best rate we found for those two nights was $299 for the room only. With taxes and the $25 daily resort charge for the two nights, your total for the “Hot” package will be at least $786. A Friday and Saturday night stay is required.
