Smaller airline, tougher problem
I thought Catharine Hamm’s reply to the frustrated JetBlue traveler in her “On the Spot” column [“You’re Grounded,” July 26] was excellent. I’ve flown JetBlue several times and have had good experiences. However, JetBlue is a small airline (when compared with American, United or Southwest) and when a weather-related or flight-crew problem pops up, it often doesn’t have a way to easily solve the problem, especially when the flight is originating from a small airport like Long Beach. You have to accept that when you fly a small airline, especially in these tough economic times.
