CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / SANTA ANA
Three Orange County men have been arrested in separate sex crimes cases in which all the victims were minors, authorities said Thursday.
David Brown, 34, of Lake Forest is accused of meeting a 15-year-old girl online via instant messaging and having a four-month sexual relationship with her, according to the FBI. He drew the scrutiny of law enforcement after he was allegedly spotted at a high school looking for the girl.
Richard Chaney, 23, of Costa Mesa is accused of meeting a 14-year-old girl online and shooting video of himself having sex with her. He also is accused of sexually assaulting a second victim while she was unconscious.
Brock Jackson, 21, of Santa Margarita was charged in federal court with possession of child pornography after authorities investigating him for vehicle theft allegedly uncovered hundreds of child pornography videos and 6,000 images on his laptop computer.
Authorities allege that Chaney and Brown may have victimized other minors, and investigators are urging any additional victims to contact the multijurisdictional Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team at (714) 542-8825 or (310) 477-6565.
