Boston 4, at Baltimore 0: Jon Lester (7-6) struck out eight in seven innings and J.D. Drew tripled and scored in the first inning, hit a two-run home run in the fourth and singled in the sixth. Drew grounded out to second base in the eighth.
at Oakland 7, Detroit 1: Mark Ellis hit a two-run home run, Ryan Sweeney homered and drove in two runs and the Athletics ended a losing streak at five games. Kurt Suzuki had a run-scoring double for the A’s.
Chicago 6, at Cleveland 3: Gavin Floyd (6-5) shut out the Indians, who have lost 11 of 13 games, on five singles over 7 2/3 innings. The White Sox have won 10 of 14 games.
at Kansas City 4, Minnesota 2: Miguel Olivo homered, tripled, singled and drove in two runs and the Royals broke the game open with consecutive home runs by Alberto Callaspo and Olivo in the sixth inning.
Angels 5, at Texas 2: Juan Rivera and Kendry Morales hit home runs for the Angels.
