Chicago 3, at Pittsburgh 1: Rich Harden repeatedly worked out of trouble to win for the first time in more than six weeks and Ryan Theriot homered for the Cubs, who are 2-6 on a 10-game trip and 15-24 overall on the road.

at Florida 4, Washington 2: Ricky Nolasco retired the final 13 batters he faced and Emilio Bonifacio drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth for the Marlins, who ended a three-game slide and are 7-0 against the Nationals this season.

Houston 3, at San Diego 1: Roy Oswalt pitched a two-hitter, retiring the final 18 batters, and improved to 10-2 in 15 appearances against the Padres.

at Dodgers 4, Colorado 2 (13): Andre Ethier homered against Joel Peralta with none out in the bottom of the 13th.
