I thoroughly enjoyed the article about the comics [“10 Comics Walk Into a Bar . . . ,” March 8]. I recently got into the business as a manager and Pat Mellon’s story rang true to me for some of the new comics that I have recently picked up and even for me on the other side of the business.

It does take some hard work and a bit of “getting your hands dirty.” I hope the article gives new comics some hope and insight, for I have seen a lot of comics try to skip doing some of that work.
