Re “Israeli troops report Gaza civilian abuse,” March 20
Los Angeles has a Museum of Tolerance; why? Is it not to remind of the terrible consequences of prejudice?
I suggest that the Israeli army visit this place, for many in its ranks have forgotten the price their ancestors paid. If the life of an Israeli soldier is more important than that of an unarmed woman walking with her children, then the notion of democracy has failed in Israel.

Israel, like America and all nations of the decent, consistently evaluates itself and wonders if it could have engaged in war in a more humane manner.
Do we hear the same from members of Hamas? Do they ever wonder how their suicide bombers could murder fewer of the innocent?
