Crenshaw defeats Fremont, 9-3
MONDAY’S BASEBALL RESULT
Los Angeles Crenshaw 9, Los Angeles Fremont 3
Top contributors: Kenji Corbisiero had three hits and pitched a complete game for Crenshaw. Keymon Thomas and Skyler Blocker each had two hits for the winners.
The scoop: Freshmen played prominent roles for the Cougars in a game for first place in the Coliseum League. Thomas and Blocker are freshmen, and freshman Ron Miller had a two-run double. Corbisiero, a senior left-hander, struck out six, walked one and gave up six hits.
Why it matters: Crenshaw, which could be a contender to win the City Section Division II championship, handed Fremont its first defeat in league play.
Records: Crenshaw 8-4, 7-0; Fremont 11-2, 8-1.
