CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / HOLLYWOOD HILLS
A water main break in the Hollywood Hills disrupted service to as many as 30 homes Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Department of Water and Power.
The rupture occurred just after 11 a.m. in the 7800 block of Torreyson Drive.
Firefighters used pumps and sandbags to redirect the water and prevent flooding, said Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales. They temporarily closed Torreyson Drive.
The water flow and mud buildup caused minor street damage, said Gale Harris, a DWP spokeswoman.
A crew worked Sunday afternoon to repair the line and clear the mud. She said all service was expected to be restored by 10 p.m. Sunday.
