Update: Detroit defeated the Ducks, 4-0, in the Ducks’ first game of the season Oct. 8, and took the second meeting, 5-4, on Oct. 23. Both were at Detroit. “Detroit is a big rivalry for us and a big test for us,” said Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, whose team is 9-4-1 at home. Teemu Selanne didn’t practice Thursday because of a sore groin but is expected to play. Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood is back after missing a month because of a groin injury, but Jimmy Howard is expected to start against the Ducks, with Osgood returning against the Kings on Saturday. Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg is coming off a four-point performance — two goals and two assists — at San Jose on Tuesday.
