$100 million: Neighborhood stabilization
Program will acquire, restore and resell foreclosed properties, mostly in South Los Angeles and the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Some construction is expected to begin by next spring.
$65 million: Street improvements
About 100 miles of city roads will be resurfaced, along with sidewalk repairs by June 2012
$35 million: DWP water quality projects
Workers are more than halfway through upgrading two major water supply pipelines and placing a new cover over the 9.2-acre Santa Ynez reservoir in Pacific Palisades.
$16.2 million: Police
Funds are paying for the salary and benefits of 50 police officers over three years
$8.3 million: Weatherization of 1,638 low-income homes
DWP crews are in training with work to begin in 2011
$7.5 million: Traffic
25 new traffic lights and 85 new left-turn arrows will be installed by the end of 2011.
$7.5 million: Broadband access
188 high-speed Internet access points and more than 2,700 computers are being installed at libraries, recreation centers and job-training sites. Three-quarters of the work should be done by March.
