As chief executive officer for the nonprofit organization WISEPlace, Brateil Aghasi has led the organization since 2018. Brought in when WISEPlace was struggling and considering shutting down, she has utilized her vision and leadership to bring the organization to a place of not only surviving but thriving, even amid a pandemic that greatly affects vulnerable populations. In the last 24 months, Aghasi, while stabilizing program operations, has increased the number of WISEPlace clients served by 182%, all while growing the financials by 53%. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded programs to create a low barrier 24/7 operations model and additionally secured $30 million of additional funding, and begun construction on WISEPlace’s first affordable housing development to house and end the homelessness of 48 formerly homeless individuals who have dual diagnoses disabilities.
