As the founder & executive director of Speak Your Truth Today, Hannah Hollander embarked on her journey after leaving an abusive relationship in 2018. Realizing the lack of education on intimate partner violence, she decided to share her story on Facebook in 2019 hoping to raise awareness and support local domestic violence shelters. The post went viral, leading to the creation of Speak Your Truth Today (SYTT), a private support group for survivors. SYTT has grown into one of the largest gender-inclusive domestic violence support groups on Facebook, helping about three people escape abusive relationships weekly since 2019. The mission of SYTT is to amplify the voices of victims, provide resources, emotional support, and abuse education. Hollander is a certified victim’s advocate and leads the Ambassadors Program to train volunteers without cost.
