Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas

Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas

Some people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast activates our metabolism and prevents us from snacking on unhealthy food before lunch. As much as many of us would enjoy a full breakfast every morning, the majority of people simply don’t have the time to make it… you’re doing your waistline a favor with that one!

Breakfast can be healthy, delicious, and made very quickly if you are a busy individual. Here are some breakfast ideas that you will be happy to get out of bed for.

Waffles

You can make a waffle for breakfast with a simple batter mix consisting of 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 2 eggs, 1 ¾ cups of milk, 4 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ a cup of vegetable oil, ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk these ingredients together until smooth, then pour the mixture into a preheated waffle iron.

If you need to purchase a waffle iron, the Lakeland No Mess Waffle Maker is the best waffle iron on the market. It can make 4 waffles at a time and has a trough around the edge to catch any drippings. The Lakeland No Mess Waffle Maker is also extremely easy to use - it will tell you when it is heating up and when it is at the optimum temperature to cook your waffles.

Once you have made your waffles, you can add a variety of toppings to change things up daily. Try adding fruit and yogurt, chocolate sauce and cream, or peanut butter and jelly.

Overnight oats

Here is a breakfast that you can prepare in 5 minutes before you go to bed. All you need to do is leave oats to soak in a jar of milk and any other ingredients of your choice. We love adding banana, peanut butter, and sweet cinnamon powder to ours.

Eggs on toast

It takes less than 5 minutes to fry an egg. Heck, you don’t even need a frying pan to make scrambled eggs - just a microwave and 3 minutes of your time. Try adding some rosemary and garlic to your buttered toast to make this breakfast a little more interesting.

Breakfast bars

If you are so strapped for time that you need to eat your breakfast on the go, you should consider buying breakfast bars. Trek Protein Nut Bars are some of the best breakfast bars available. They are vegan, gluten-free, and full of protein which will keep you fuller for longer. With less than 5g of sugar and only 2g of saturated fats, it is one of the healthiest breakfast bars out there.

Smashed avocado on toast

Why not try making smashed avocado on toast? All you need to do is put the avocado flesh into a bowl, and mash it up with a fork. Add garlic powder, tarragon, and a squeeze of lemon. Spread it on your buttered toast and enjoy!

Mushrooms and spinach on toast

If you want to make perfect mushroom and spinach on toast, use white truffle-infused olive oil and fry some mushrooms in a pan. When they are 1 minute away from being ready, add spinach. Stir the spinach until it wilts. Add a dash of soy sauce and garlic powder. Add to buttered toast and top with green onion and Parmesan.

European Style Pancakes

For this recipe, simply make a pancake batter from milk, eggs, and flour. For a savory pancake add salt, pepper a dash of paprika, and a little garlic. Fry some vegetables in a pan. Once cooked, pour the ingredients into the bowl of pancake mix. Stir the ingredients together and pour them back into the frying pan. Cook for a few minutes on each side.

For a sweet pancake, do not add, salt, pepper, or paprika to the pancake mix. We recommend topping sweet pancakes with fruit, lemon juice, and powdered sugar. These styles of pancakes come out thin, so you can roll them up to make crepes.

Try our recommendations and you will never skip breakfast again.
