Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush Review

Bestcovery's Reviewer holding up the Y-Brush

Can This Unique Electric Tooth Brush Really Work in 10 Seconds?

In today's fast-paced world full of busy schedules, even essential tasks like oral hygiene can sometimes get rushed or overlooked. The Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush offers a promising solution to this common problem. Unlike traditional toothbrushes that recommend a full two-minute brushing session, the Y-Brush only takes 20 seconds to do the job.

But can this toothbrush really get your teeth as clean as a regular one, and is it worth the $99 price tag? That’s what Bestcovery is here to answer! The Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush was tested for two weeks to help you decide if this time-saving tool is the right choice for you.

Disclosure: Bestcovery received a sample of the Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush to review.

What Is It?

The Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush is a y-shaped brush that uses sonic vibrations to clean your teeth. It has revolutionized the way you brush your teeth thanks to its innovative technology and ability to brush all of your teeth simultaneously. This toothbrush hails from France and has already proven itself to be effective. It recently began making its way into the American market.

What's Included?

For this review, I received a y-shaped brush head, a base with a battery pack, a USB charging cable, an extra stand to dry the brush head after use, toothpaste, and a toothpaste dispenser cap.

How to Use

When you use this toothbrush, you'll need to clean your top and bottom teeth separately. Use the dispenser cap on the toothpaste to make it easy to cover the small bristles. After applying toothpaste, place the brush head in your mouth so the bristles cover your top teeth. Slowly move it side to side and bite down a few times so it can effectively reach all of your teeth. Once you clean the top teeth, flip the toothbrush head over and do the same for your bottom teeth. It's very easy to use and only takes 10 seconds for each side.

Effectiveness

After using this toothbrush, my teeth seemed clean, but I didn't feel like it had the same effect as a regular toothbrush. In fact, I ended up using my regular toothbrush after each use of the Y-Brush because my mouth didn't feel clean enough. The first issue is the toothpaste. It has a much more mild mint flavor than traditional toothpaste. I love the feeling of minty fresh breath after brushing, and this toothpaste just didn't deliver. The other big problem is this toothbrush doesn't let you clean your tongue or other parts of your mouth.

Value and Cost

The Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush costs about $99 on Amazon. This is a great price to pay for children and adults who have a difficult time with oral hygiene. However, for the average user, it feels a bit pricey.

Comfort

I really like how small and soft the bristles are because they feel very gentle and comfortable on the teeth and gums. But the brush head itself was very bulky and uncomfortable to use. It felt like a big mouthguard in my mouth, and it was a little tricky to move it correctly. The sonic vibrations felt kind of weird, too, and while this wasn't a big issue for me, I don't think it will be good for people with sensory issues. Thankfully, you only have to use it for a total of 20 seconds, so the bulky brush head isn't uncomfortable for too long.

Y-Brush Pros

Brushing your teeth with the Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush is significantly quicker than traditional toothbrushes. It only takes a total of 20 seconds instead of the two full minutes needed with other brushes. The bristles are soft and small, so there wasn't any gum irritation. I also liked that you can control the mode for a more gentle or intense brushing experience.

The battery life on the Y-Brush is incredible! It lasts for three months after just two hours of charging, while many other electric toothbrushes only last a few days to weeks.

This is an excellent option for kids and adults who have difficulty with oral hygiene. Kids sometimes go through phases where they hate brushing their teeth. Some disabilities also prevent people from being able to brush their teeth for the recommended two minutes. The Y-Brush is quick and relatively easy to use, making it easier to brush in these situations.

Y-Brush Cons

There were two issues with the Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush. The first is that I don't feel like it cleaned my teeth as thoroughly as my regular toothbrush. I didn't enjoy that the toothpaste was so mild because it felt like my teeth weren't as clean. I also couldn't clean my tongue like I usually do with a regular toothbrush. Because of this, I went back and brushed my teeth again after using the Y-Brush.

The other major issue is how bulky it is. The Y-Brush comes with two bases, both of which take up a lot more room on the bathroom counter than smaller toothbrushes. It also felt very bulky in my mouth while using it, which was a little off-putting.

Should You Invest in the Y-Brush Electric Toothbrush?

There are many things to like about this toothbrush. It cleans your teeth in seconds, the battery lasts a long time, and it has soft bristles that don't cause irritation. It's a great investment for parents with kids who have a hard time spending the full two minutes brushing their teeth and adults who also find it challenging to keep up with oral hygiene. However, if you're looking for something less bulky or have sensory issues, it might be best to stick to your regular toothbrush.
