Chevy announces Premiere edition of Corvette Stingray convertible
It’s a Black Friday sale you don’t have to wait in line for.
Chevrolet announced this week it will be building a limited run of its all-new Corvette Stingray convertible to commence the car’s production. Dubbed the Premiere Edition Convertible, the car follows in the footsteps of the Premiere Edition Coupe that was announced in June.
The convertible comes loaded with everything Chevy can stuff in it: performance exhaust system, electronic limited-slip differential, adjustable magnetic ride suspension and suede interior. Don’t forget the Corvette-branded luggage from Thule.

Performance remains unchanged from the rest of the Corvette lineup we tested in August. A direct-injected, 6.2-liter V-8 makes 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, and power flows to the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic.
Chevy will build just 550 of these convertibles, and they’ll only be available in the dark green paint (dubbed Lime Rock by Chevy) with the brown suede interior you see above.

The cars will sell for $77,450 including destination when they hit dealerships in early 2014.
