Don’t tell: Pinterest introduces secret boards

Pinterest wants to aid your holiday planning with a new feature: secret boards.

The young social network, which lets users pins items to boards that they share, announced it would begin to gradually roll out secret boards that they can share with a few friends without having them show up elsewhere on the social network.

“You can use secret boards to keep track of holiday gifts, plan a special event, or work on a project you aren’t yet ready to share with the rest of the world,” Pinterest said in a blog announcing the feature.

If your account has been enabled with the test feature, you can add a secret board by going to your profile, scrolling down and clicking “Create a Secret Board.” You can also add a secret board if you click “Add+” on the top right corner of the page, select “Create Board” and switch a button that says “Secret” to “on.”

You can also create secret boards from the company’s mobile apps by going to the “Boards” tab. From there, scroll down until you see a button that says “Create a Secret Board.” Again, you will see that option only if your account has been enabled with the test feature.

Pinterest hasn’t said if the feature is here to stay, but users with more questions can go to this support page.
