Northridge home of late boxing promoter Dan Goossen up for sale

The home of late boxing promoter Dan Goossen has come on the market in Northridge for $1,599,999.

The two-story Mediterranean in a guard-gated community was built in 1988 and features wrought iron doors, French limestone flooring and a two-story entry with a dramatic floating staircase. Raised ceilings and large picture windows lend an open and airy quality to the floor plan.

Within the 5,710 square feet of space is a formal dining room with coffered ceilings, a renovated kitchen, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The master suite has one of four fireplaces, a soaking tub and a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and spa.

Outside, a covered patio and a lighted sports court complete the nearly half-acre setting.

The home last sold in 2006 for $1.875 million, records show.

Goossen, who died last year at 64, promoted many of boxing’s biggest draws over the last quarter-century, including Mike Tyson, David Tua, James Toney, Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather Jr. He was also the longtime agent for Pete Rose as well as bouncer-turned-actor Mr. T during the 1980s.
