The longtime Beverly Hills home of late author and romance novelist Jackie Collins has sold for $21 million.

Collins, who died last year at age 77, acquired the property in the late 1980s for $3 million, with her custom contemporary-style mansion completed in 1991. It originally came to market in February for $30 million and was more recently priced at $24.5 million, records show.

The 22,000-square-foot home, designed for intimate and large-scale entertaining, is equipped with proportioned formal rooms, a library, a wet bar and a chef’s island with three center islands. Light vestibules and skylights top a two-story foyer.

A 100-foot corridor lined with gallery walls leads from the main house to a guest apartment, a gym and a screening room. In all, there are eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and five patio rooms.

Patios, gardens and a swimming pool and spa fill roughly one acre of grounds. A motor court and a six-car garage complete the setting.

The buyer was identified by the Wall Street Journal as real estate investor Ben Nehmadi. Nehmadi, the founder and managing principal of Republic Investment Co., also purchased a neighboring property that was also owned by Collins’ estate and has been leased by actor Al Pacino for the last decade. Terms of that transaction were not publicly available.

The London-born Collins achieved notoriety for her capturing of Hollywood glamour and salacious detail. Among her bestselling novels is “The World Is Full of Married Men,” “Hollywood Wives” and “Hollywood Husbands.” Her collective works are said to have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide.

Brett Lawyer and Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, had the listing. Richard Maslan, also of Hilton & Hyland, represented Nehmadi.
