Mark Seliger’s picture-perfect Neutra house lists in Los Feliz
Portrait photographer Mark Seliger has listed his Richard Neutra-designed house in Los Feliz at $4.5 million.
Restored to maintain its architectural integrity, the 1949 Alpha Wirin House is a prime example of Neutra’s Midcentury Modern work.
Walls of glass take in views of the cityscape and downtown Los Angeles. Balconies add an indoor-outdoor element to the hillside home. Wood ceilings and built-ins bring a sense of warmth to the interiors.
The two-story house has 2,262 square feet of living space, two bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The nearly three-quarter acres of grounds are planted with palms and succulents. Steps lead to a swimming pool below the house.
Seliger is known for his photographs of such notables as President Obama, Mick Jagger and Kurt Cobain. He has shot covers for Rolling Stone, GQ and Vanity Fair, among other publications.
He bought the property in disrepair a decade ago for $1.575 million. Designer Mark Haddaway worked on the restoration
Aaron Kirman of John Aaroe Group is the listing agent.
