NFL wideout Marvin Jones Jr. snags an offseason spot in Poway for $2.3 million

NFL wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., who plays for the Detroit Lions, has bought a home in Poway in San Diego County for $2.3 million.

Encompassing about four acres of grounds, the hilltop site takes in mountain and valley views from all sides.

Inside, more than 9,000 square feet of living space features a grand foyer with sweeping staircases that open to the dining room and a living room with a fireplace. A chef’s kitchen embellished with brick archways sits off the dining room area.

Other features of note include a gym, a game room and a garden room with a fireplace. The master suite sports an oversized shower and a private balcony for a total of six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Outdoors, the grounds center on a resort-style swimming pool with a beach entry, a spa and a waterfall feature. A tennis court, patios, lawns and formal landscaping complete the setting.

The property had been listed for $2.45 million at the time of the sale. Craig Hulbert of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Jones Jr., 26, was a standout at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga before attending UC Berkeley, where he earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2011. He caught 55 passes for 930 yards and four touchdowns for the Lions last year, his first with the team.
