Richard Landry sells Malibu barn house for $8.3 million
Architect-to-the-stars Richard Landry has sold his 11-acre spread in Malibu for $8.3 million.
Landry, who designed the Tom Brady-Gisele Bundchen mansion in Brentwood that Dr. Dre bought this year for $40 million, lived in a contemporary barn home of 4,504 square feet.
Aluminum-clad grain silos at two sides of the house and a pump-handle bathroom faucet underscore his design theme.
The two-story main house features the wood from a 100-year-old barn in Quebec, a 35-foot-tall great room with a fireplace and ocean views, open-beamed ceilings, stained concrete floors, exposed air ducts, a gym with an adjoining steam bath, an office/study, five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
A real barn, a corrugated metal swimming tank/pool and a three-car garage complete the grounds.
The acreage overlooks the Pacific and the surrounding hillsides.
Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker was the listing agent. Thomas Clements of Sotheby’s International Realty was the sales agent.
