Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky has sold a house in Westlake Village for $3.4 million. That was a relatively quick pass. The former center had just bought the place through a blind trust at the end of last year for $3.3 million.

Set in the gated Sherwood Country Club area on roughly three-quarters of an acre, the stately Mediterranean looks out onto a golf course fairway and takes in the mountains beyond.

Cathedral ceilings and finely crafted details bring a warm ambiance to the more than 5,000 square feet of interiors. There are living room, family room and master bedroom fireplaces.

Sliding glass doors off the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house open to European-inspired gardens, a resort-style swimming pool and an expansive terrace. The attached garage can accommodate four cars.

Gretzky, 56, earned the nickname “The Great One” during a career that spanned two decades. The 18-time all-star and Hall of Famer played for such NHL teams as the Los Angeles Kings.

Nicole Van Parys of Engel & Volkers and Gary Dean Nesen were the listing agents. Deborah Kernahan of Compass represented the buyers.
