Samsung announces August release for Galaxy Note 10.1
Samsung announced that its next tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1, will make its global debut later this month.
The South Korean company said it will extend its Note brand with a stylus-ready tablet the size of the iPad by the end of August. It is to use the same Samsung S Pen stylus found on the Galaxy Note tablet/phone.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 will have a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, the company said. It also is to come with a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera.
Consumers will be able to get the tablet in Wi-Fi-only or Wi-Fi-and-3G HSPA-Plus connectivity at launch as well as on Wi-Fi-and-LTE later this year.
The company did not announce details on storage or pricing.
“As well as being able to consume content such as videos, photos, document and the Internet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 also gives [users] the power to produce, create and customize that same content -- something they won’t get from any other product on the market,” said Simon Stanford, vice president for Samsung’s Britain/Ireland telecommunications and networks division, in a statement, according to Engadget.
Among the Galaxy Note 10.1’s key features, Samsung is pushing the tablet’s ability to multitask and run multiple apps on the screen at the same time.
