Oak Forest Police officer remembered
Oak Forest Police officer Jim Morrissy was the longest-tenured patrolman in southwest suburban Oak Forest, and Monday, March 17, 2014, he became the first in the history of the police department to die in the line of duty. Morrissy was struck in his squad car just after 2 p.m. on Cicero Avenue at 160th Street in the south suburb as he drove to assist another officer.
