Theatre Communications Group names Diane Rodriguez as board chair
Theatre Communications Group, the national organization that promotes nonprofit theater, has named Diane Rodriguez to the position of board chair. Rodriguez currently works as an associate producer and director of new play production at Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles.
Rodriguez is succeeding Phillip Himberg, producing artistic director of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, as TCG board chair. Other new board appointments include “Stick Fly” playwright Lydia Diamond as co-vice president alongside Robert Hupp, producing artistic director of Arkansas Repertory Theatre.

Among the newly appointed board members is Larissa FastHorse, a playwright and choreographer from Santa Monica.
TCG, which is based in New York, serves as a national organization that brings together nonprofit theater companies from around the country. It also makes grants, publishes plays and publishes American Theater magazine.
The organization held its annual conference of theater companies in L.A. in 2011. The 2014 conference is set to take place in San Diego from June 19 to 21.
