Join ‘Veep’s’ Anna Chlumsky for a live web chat on Wednesday
“Hey, have you thought about not [sleeping with] your personal trainer, seeing as you’re running for president?”
It’s a good question -- smart, practical and to the point -- which is what we expect from Anna Chlumsky’s Amy Brookheimer, the chief of staff and, now, campaign manager to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ would-be Leader of the Free World on the HBO comedy, “Veep.”
Chlumsky, who received an Emmy nomination last year for her stellar work on the show, will be dropping by The Times’ office on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. PDT for a live chat (and victory lap) as Amy has seemingly bested Dan in “Veep’s” season-long battle to become Selina’s presidential campaign manager. (Though, as we know, most victories on “Veep” are followed shortly by humiliation, so best to celebrate now, while we can.)
We’ll also talk to Chlumsky about her harrowing four-episode guest turn on “Hannibal,” playing an FBI trainee who discovers the title character’s identity and pays for it with two years in captivity. That is a change of pace. And she also has a role in “The End of the Tour,” the upcoming film about author David Foster Wallace. So there’s much to discuss. And if you have a question you’d like us to pass along, tweet it to us using the hashtag #asklatimes. See you Wednesday.
