Emmys 2014: ‘The Amazing Race’ wins reality competition series
CBS’ “The Amazing Race” won the Emmy for reality competition series Monday night, a return to form for the longtime champ in this category.
The award for reality competition program was created in 2003. “The Amazing Race” has taken the award 10 out of 12 times.
It lost to “Top Chef” in 2010 and to “The Voice” in 2013.

One element that “The Amazing Race” has in its favor is part of its concept, which involves groups of people racing around the world across time zones and through multiple countries. That’s always an impressive production feat.
“The Amazing Race” beat out “Dancing With the Stars,” “Project Runway,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Top Chef” and “The Voice.”
This year, the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are hosted by “Late Night” host Seth Meyers and are being held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Instead of the traditional Sunday night, the awards are being held on Monday night, broadcast on NBC.
