Russell Wilson engaged to Ciara: ‘Since Day 1 I knew you were the one,’ he says

The end zone just got a little bit closer for Russell Wilson and Ciara: The football star has proposed to the R&B singer.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback popped the question to the “Goodies” singer while they were vacationing in the Seychelles this week. He presented his now-fiancée with an enormous diamond ring, which she flaunted in a short video posted on both their Instagram and Twitter accounts. Wilson declares for the camera that “she said yes,” and Ciara lets out an audible “aww.”

“She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove @Ciara,” he wrote, captioning the beachside video.

“God Is So Good! I’m So Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Truly Heaven Sent, and I’m Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You,” Ciara captioned her post.

The singer, full name Ciara Princess Harris, also posted a better-lit image of Wilson down on one knee in the sand, kissing her hand.

“I feel complete,” she wrote.

The proposal went down when Wilson, 27, whisked the 30-year-old singer away after Paris Fashion Week, People reported. He gave her the option of 30 possible destinations before ultimately touching down in the Seychelles, nestled in the Indian Ocean off the East African coast.

“The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancée at the romantic private ‘Honeymoon Beach’ located on North Island,” the singer’s rep told the outlet.

TMZ said Wilson popped the question during a private Champagne dinner.

The happy couple — devout Christians — have been linked since April 2015, and the smokin’ hot pair famously took a vow of celibacy, abstaining from sex until they’re man and wife. That vow is surely at the forefront of fans’ minds now.

“I said, ‘What would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table. And just did it Jesus’ way ... ?” Wilson said during a Rock Church sit-down last July. “We’re talking about sex. I said to her, and she completely agreed ... can we love each other without that? If you can really love somebody without that, then you can really love somebody.”

She certainly didn’t make it easier for him, showing up on his arm on multiple red-carpet events, scantily clad and looking like sex on a stick, with sky-high slits and plunging V-necks.

“I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy, especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen — that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest. I’m like, Look the other way! Look the other way!” Ciara told Cosmopolitan last month.

She added that they were “growing with each other” by having “really healthy conversations and focus on each other as people.”

It’ll be the first marriage for Ciara and the second for Wilson. She was previously engaged to rapper Future, with whom she shares son Future Zahir Wilburn, nearly 2. Wilson was previously wed to his high school sweetheart, Ashton Meem, from 2012 to 2014.
