Iggy Azalea denies sex-tape allegation: ‘It honestly makes me sick’
Iggy Azalea says she has no sex tape -- but if she did, she’d consider anyone who tried to release it a “sex offender.”
“I believe there would be a huge demand for her sex tape,” Vivid Entertainment honcho Steven Hirsch said Thursday morning in a statement obtained by E! News. “... We are conducting our due diligence and if we are satisfied with our review, we will definitely try to make a deal to distribute the tape.”
Hirsch said he’d seen some of the footage, which supposedly included an ex-boyfriend of Iggy’s, and was willing to make her a seven-figure offer to release it. But according to TMZ (and now the “Black Widow” singer herself), Hirsch was mistaken.
“It is categorically not Iggy Azalea in the video in question,” the performer’s rep told the Huffington Post. “She has never been involved in any sexually explicit recordings.”
Azalea vented in a series of tweets on Thursday afternoon.
“obviously I’ve seen the news feed today and i just want to say… I dont have a sex tape,” she said, “but for the record... Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender & it honestly makes me sick to see the media encourage any other attitude towards those sorts of people, we should want to protect our women and i really hope that america will follow Europe and their laws to better protect peoples privacy and fundamental rights.
“and on that note, I’m off to get a manicure. peaaaaccceeeeeee outtttttt *drops the mic*”
The notion of a person being a sex offender in this kind of context popped up in recent weeks after stolen nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and other women were posted online.
“Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they’re a sex offender,” “Girls” star Lena Dunham tweeted.
To make it legal in California, all parties shown in a sex tape must agree to its commercial release.
