Khloe Kardashian is at the point where she can joke a bit about the effect that Lamar Odom’s health situation has had on her love life.

“It’s definitely a very unique situation, to say the least ...,” the reality TV star told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview set to air Monday. “I’m just going to say I’m, like, part of polygamy now. I have a husband, I have a boyfriend. ... That’s a way easier thing to say.”

DeGeneres pointed out that she’d have to marry Houston Rockets star James Harden to become a true polygamist, but my “Big Love” and “Sister Wives” research suggests that it would only need to be a spiritual wedding, not a legal one, to bring Kardashian into the club.

“I have a great boyfriend, who’s understanding,” she said of Harden, calling the idea of putting her divorce from Odom on fast-forward now would be “insensitive.”

The 31-year-old, who noted that the interview had been scheduled in advance as part of promotion for her book “Strong Looks Better Naked,” brought folks up to speed on how Odom is doing after falling into a three-day coma after a binge at a Nevada brothel a month ago.

“He is off of all machines that help his organs, but still he has such a long way to go. He’s learning how to walk again and feed himself again, put sentences together,” she said. The day of the interview, however, he wasn’t having much success with that last one, but he understands what people are saying, she said.

“We tell him he had a brain injury,” Kardashian said, adding that “I can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, ‘cause it will set him back.”

One bright light in the landscape: “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” has helped Odom heal, according to his estranged wife.

The stroke damaged a part of his brain that influences emotions, she said. Recently, however, “he was able to smille and laugh at appropriate times, which is awesome,” Kardashian told DeGeneres. “And he was watching your show when that happened.”
