Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston kissing photos trigger new couple alert

Well, that was quick.

The Sun shocked the world (or maybe just the Internet) on Wednesday when it revealed a host of photos featuring the newest celebrity couple, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston. 

Photographed on a Rhode Island beach, the lovebirds selfied and smooched to their hearts’ content, even, at one point looking in unison over their shoulders like wildlife spooked by a particularly loud noise. 

Swift is newly single, having announced her separation from DJ Calvin Harris on June 1, though the pair ended their relationship a week prior. Hiddleston was said to be seeing “I Saw the Light” co-star Elizabeth Olsen as recently as March, though Olsen dismissed those reports as “a bunch of strangers saying a bunch of stuff that they don’t know about.”

Hiddleston, 35, who recently headlined the AMC/BBC One miniseries adaptation of John le Carré’s “The Night Manager” is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic. Swift, 26, is a multi-platinum recording artist perhaps best known for crafting catchy songs from the aftermath of relationships. 

It was a busy day in the social sphere for Swift, as both she and ex-boyfriend Harris were actively scrubbing their social media accounts of their prior relationship. Harris deleted not just a conciliatory tweet about the mutual and respectful end of the pair’s relationship from two weeks ago, but also tweeted, then deleted, a message saying, “Oh boy it’s about to go down” complete with three skull emojis.

Harris also unfollowed Swift on the social media platform. To add insult to injury, he also unfollowed the singer’s brother, Austin. 

The Swift/Hiddleston pairing doesn’t come as a complete surprise, as the two raised eyebrows on May 2 at the annual Met Gala when they danced together to T.I.’s “Bring Em Out.” The pair were also in attendance at a pre-Met Gala dinner held at Anna Wintour’s home the night before.

Now all that’s left to do is to christen a celebrity couple name for Hiddleston and Swift. Hiddleswift? Swiftleston? Taytom? Jonathan Taylor Thomas?
