Video: If Jimmy Fallon hosts Oscars, here’s what you can expect

It’s hardly certain that Jimmy Fallon will emcee next year’s Oscars, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been talking to the talk show host about taking over Hollywood’s biggest awards show.

He would replace Billy Crystal, who received mixed marks for his Oscar work earlier this year.

It wouldn’t be Fallon’s first brush with such a gig. The comedian hosted 2010’s Emmy Awards, and the notices were positive.

While the Academy Awards have often used movie stars in the hosting role -- sorry to remind you of James Franco and Anne Hathaway -- there’s a rich tradition of tapping TV personalities, a list that includes Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Jon Stewart.
