Video: If Jimmy Fallon hosts Oscars, here’s what you can expect
It’s hardly certain that Jimmy Fallon will emcee next year’s Oscars, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been talking to the talk show host about taking over Hollywood’s biggest awards show.
He would replace Billy Crystal, who received mixed marks for his Oscar work earlier this year.
It wouldn’t be Fallon’s first brush with such a gig. The comedian hosted 2010’s Emmy Awards, and the notices were positive.
While the Academy Awards have often used movie stars in the hosting role -- sorry to remind you of James Franco and Anne Hathaway -- there’s a rich tradition of tapping TV personalities, a list that includes Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Jon Stewart.

And on his “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” the 37-year-old veteran of “Saturday Night Live” has shown he isn’t easily intimidated by bigger names:
And while many people think Neil Patrick Harris should host all awards shows because he can sing and dance, we recommend you look at his (slightly autotuned) performance along side Stephen Colbert as he sings “Friday.” (There’s nothing wrong with your computer, the video is shown as a mirror image because of copyright concerns):
