CNBLUE, G-Dragon and more added to KCON 2014

KCON, America’s largest annual K-pop concert and fan event, will return to the L.A. Memorial Sports Arena in August. But its lineup just got a lot bigger.
Today, organizers announced that rapper G-Dragon, pop act B1A4, rockers CNBLUE, boy band Teen Top and a slate of other South Korean acts have joined a lineup that already included stars like Girls’ Generation and Bangtan Boys.
The announcement also finalized the Sports Arena location for the Aug. 9-10 festival. The fest’s location was still unknown at the time of most recent headlining-act announcement.
Four acts, including Bangtan Boys, IU, Jung Joon Young and SPICA, will make their U.S. live debuts at the show.
Others, including G-Dragon and Girls’ Generation, have begun to make significant inroads into U.S. pop. G-Dragon has most recently collaborated with Missy Elliott and Skrillex, on singles like Dragon’s “Niliria” and Skrillex’s “Dirty Vibe.”
Last year’s event drew over 20,000 fans, who reveled in day-long workshops in hallyu production, Korean-fusion food trucks and a full night of performances from G-Dragon, EXO and a cameo from Elliott.
