Sandy Le, 26, of Austin, who had been in critical condition with head injuries, died Monday at University Medical Center Brackenridge, according to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.

She was one of 22 people injured Thursday after a car driven by a suspected drunk driver attempted to evade a DWI checkpoint and plowed into a crowd of pedestrians outside the Mohawk nightclub, police said.

Le’s brother-in-law, Stuart Gates, told the Austin-American Statesman that “Anybody who had the privilege of knowing her would tell you she’s just full of life... she would just brighten up a room when she would walk in. She had an amazing quirkiness about her that was irreplaceable.”
