Watch: Shakira and Rihanna writhe in ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You’
In spite of the song’s title, Pop & Hiss has found it pretty easy to forget Shakira’s irritating duet with Rihanna, which after premiering two weeks ago has already dropped to No. 61 on the current Hot 100.
But as the fruit of a much-hyped superstar collaboration, “Can’t Remember to Forget You” can hardly be left to die on the vine -- especially since the song is supposed to establish some buzz ahead of the March 25 release of Shakira’s new album, her first since 2010.
PHOTOS: Unexpected musical collaborations
So here we have a music video, posted online late Thursday, in which the two singers smoke cigars, make smoldering facial expressions and writhe around together on a bed in revealing outfits. There’s also a scene where Shakira thrashes away on guitar and drums (though not, alas, at the same time).
Does the steamy video boost our low opinion of “Can’t Remember to Forget You”? Not a bit. But we definitely approve of Shakira in metalhead mode. More of that, please.
