Blindspot An assassin is in the crowd at a museum gala, and Nas and Weller (Archie Panjabi, Sullivan Stapleton) lead the team in trying to locate the killer before a tragedy occurs. Jane (Jaimie Alexander) is surprised by the fresh view she gets of her former organization. Ashley Johnson also stars in this new episode. 8 p.m. NBC

Arrow Diggle and Thea (David Ramsey, Willa Holland) have left the team after Laurel’s death, and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tries to steer Oliver (Stephen Amell) through a solo crusade of dealing with villains and vigilantes. Chad L. Coleman guest stars. 8 p.m. KTLA

The Goldbergs Adam (Sean Giambrone) risks injury in a game of paintball and Erica’s (Hayley Orrantia) friends see through her fake boyfriend in this new episode of the family comedy. 8 p.m. ABC

Lethal Weapon Murtaugh (Damon Wayans Sr.) is dismayed to learn that his training officer (Ted Levine) may be involved with a lethal drug cartel in the new episode. Speechless Maya’s (Minnie Driver) concerns about a homecoming bonfire not being wheelchair-accessible for JJ (Micah Fowler) prompt the event to be canceled, which doesn’t go over well with JJ’s friends. John Ross Bowie, Mason Cook, Kyla Kenedy and Cedric Yarbrough also star. 8:30 p.m. ABC

Criminal Minds When a case hits JJ (A.J. Cook) hard, in its aftermath, she tells her husband, Will (guest star Josh Stewart), about a similar crime from years earlier that had a deeply personal connection for her, in founding cast member Thomas Gibson’s final episode of the series. Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler and Adam Rodriguez also star. 9 p.m. CBS

Frequency This new drama series (based on the 2000 movie) reconnects a present-day police detective (Peyton List) and her late father, a cop (Riley Smith) killed on the job 20 years earlier. Co-stars include Mekhi Phifer and Anthony Ruivivar. 9 p.m. KTLA

Modern Family Martin Short guest stars as a veteran marketing expert who shares his professional theories on promotions with Haley (Sarah Hyland), while Luke and Manny’s (Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez) competition to become senior-class president prompts a rivalry between their families. Code Black Willis (Rob Lowe) treats a young soccer player (Jonathan McClendon) whose future could be affected by an injury he suffers in the crash of his team’s bus. Marcia Gay Harden also stars with guest stars Eric Roberts and Camryn Manheim. 10 p.m. CBS
