Jess and Logan are back! Find out who else is returning for ‘Gilmore Girls’

Netflix announced Wednesday that a new batch of “Gilmore Girls” alumna had signed on to the streaming service’s revival of the popular WB dramedy.

Most notable is the announcement that two of Rory Gilmore’s (Alexis Bledel) ex-boyfriends would be joining the cast. Both Matt Czuchry, who played Rory’s collegiate beau Logan Huntzberger, and Milo Ventimiglia, who played bad boy Jess Mariano, are set to reprise their roles when the series premieres.
Also confirmed Wednesday was the participation of both Liza Weil and Yanic Truesdale. Weil played Rory’s high-strung high school nemesis turned friend Paris Gellar in the original iteration of “Gilmore Girls,” while Truesdale served as Lorelai’s (Lauren Graham) snooty employee at the Dragonfly Inn.
Previously confirmed as returning for the Netflix series are leads Bledel and Graham, as well as Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena and Sean Gunn.
The biggest casting question remains whether Melissa McCarthy will reprise her role as Sookie St. James, Lorelai’s best friend, in the revival as conflicting reports swirl about her involvement. While Amy Sherman-Palladino told TVLine that Sookie had yet to be included in the scripts, but that McCarthy was more than welcome to be included, McCarthy claims that she hasn’t been invited back, but wished them the best.
What we do know about the series is that the new season will contain four 90-minute episodes, with each episode coinciding with a season of a calendar year, beginning with winter and ending with autumn.
Creator and executive producer Sherman-Palladino will write and direct the season, along with executive producer Daniel Palladino, and shooting for the series has already started.
