‘I Am Cait’ loses more than half of audience in second episode ratings

Looks like “I Am Cait” is not turning into the smash hit that E! wanted.
Sunday’s second episode of the reality series following the gender-transitioning journey of former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner drew a disappointing 1.3 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.
That was a slide of 52% from the 2.7 million who turned out for the previous week’s series premiere.

If that trend continues, “Cait” won’t live up to the standards set by “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” on which Jenner had occupied a longtime role as a somewhat perplexed paterfamilias.
The March season premiere of “Kardashians” drew 2.6 million total viewers.
Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, has received enormous media attention this year as she has transitioned genders, landed on the cover of Vanity Fair and attended numerous parties and benefits.
An April interview that ABC’s Diane Sawyer conducted with Jenner drew more than 17 million total viewers on the day of the telecast alone.
