2018 Grammys: Best and worst looks of the red carpet

Wearing a look straight off the Alexanre Vauthier Spring 2018 runway, Hailee Steinfeld stepped out in a strapless white column gown with a thigh slit that showcased her metallic purple knee-high boots. On her fingers, Steinfeld wore rings by Mattia Cielo, Hearts On Fire, and Djula Jewelry.

Ashanti was a vision in gold, wearing a voluminous gown by designer Eli Made of Kuwait’s Yas Couture House of Fashion.

Nominee Lana Del Rey was the essence of red-carpet royalty in an ivory-hued custom Gucci double silk crepe gown, adorned with crystal embroidery and accented with a celestial crown of stars.

Camila Cabello hit the carpet in a figure-hugging, strapless silk satin Vivienne Westwood couture gown in fire-engine red, teamed with a disco ball-esque Judith Leiber sphere bag. (“I try to channel the flamenco emoji for as many events as possible,” quipped the former Fifth Harmony star on Instagram.)

Nominee and multi-hyphenate Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, perfectly epitomized the evening’s all-white trend wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture printed silk jacquard jacket and trousers, topped off with a white satin bowtie.

Ne-Yo put a fresh spin on velvet, opting for a gold dinner jacket by Grayscale in the red-carpet staple, paired with a white shirt, black pants and a black fedora

Janelle Monáe was suited and booted in an ultra feminine floral take on the tuxedo from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2018 collection

Bebe Rexha’s beaded, blush-colored La Perla gown was one of the few sartorial missteps on the 2018 Grammy Awards red carpet.

Miley Cyrus went the sophisticated route in a vintage black jumpsuit from the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2017 collection.

Rita Ora paid homage to classic Hollywood glamour in a black strapless, leg-baring down from the Ralph & Russo Spring/Summer 2018 couture collection with matching Christian Louboutin pumps.

Eve sparkled in a plunging graphic crystal suit from the Naeem Khan Fall 2018 collection and an equally dazzling collar-grazing diamond necklace by Chopard.

We love Cyndi Lauper but we weren’t such a fan of her outfit at this year’s Grammy Awards. She does, however, get points for being on the whole suit trend -- and color-coordinating her hair. Which makes things about even in our book.
