Kitchen gadget: Grate, collect and measure with the Cube Grater from Microplane

Meet the new Cube Grater from the folks at Microplane. About the size of a Rubik’s Cube, this multifunctional little tool allows you to quickly grate a variety of hard and soft ingredients using your choice of fine, coarse and ribbon grating options. Working just like a miniature box grater, the tool catches ingredients in a see-through cover with measurement marks given on three sides so you can easily keep track of amounts up to 1 1/2 cups. The cover also doubles as handy storage for your grated cheese or chocolate ribbons. The Cube Grater is dishwasher-safe, though hand-washing is recommended for the cover.

The Microplane Cube Grater is available in black, red and green and can be found at select kitchen supply stores, as well as online. It retails for $19.95.
