Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte to return Aug. 25 -- and it’s still hot outside
For Starbucks lovers, nothing says fall like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. But this year, the Seattle-based coffee giant is bringing back its famous drink sooner than ever.
The official Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Twitter account -- yes, one actually exists; it has 17,000-plus followers @TheRealPSL, and you can see it here -- announced that the latte will return Aug. 25.
The drink is to be back in stores almost a month before fall officially starts on Sept. 23. Starbucks, please stop making everyone want to put on a sweater.
For those of you who may have never tried the drink, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is a cozy cup of espresso blended with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and steamed milk topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices. And if you really want to sound like you’re in the know, you’ll call it a PSL.
According to Starbucks, the PSL turns 10 this year. The company also claims there have been more than 29,000 tweets using #pumpkinspice since August 2012.
Happy birthday, PSL. You’re clearly loved by many, but you still won’t look right sitting on a beach towel in 80-degree weather.
