The Ecology Center to host Green Feast on Sept. 8
The Ecology Center, Orange County’s premiere environmental education group, will host its fourth annual Green Feast on Saturday, Sept. 8, at its lush San Juan Capistrano facility.
More than 200 people will sit at a lavish outdoor table feasting on a bounty of appetizers and a family-style, four-course dinner made by notable area chefs using farm-fresh, organic ingredients sourced from within a 200-mile radius.
Chefs include Matt Tobin (True Foods Kitchen), Justin Miller (Pizzeria Ortica), Erika Tucker (the Cellar), Ryan Adams (370 Common) and Casey Overton (Montage Resort).
The dinner will kick off with something called “The Eco App Off,” which allows guests to pick their favorite appetizers from those prepared by the chefs. There will also be a silent auction for special chef dinners to benefit the center.
Wine, of course, will play a celebrated role at the dinner, with Edward Sellers Vineyard & Wines, Tablas Creek Vineyard and Oso Libre Winery adding the appropriate Dionysian dash of fun to the night’s proceedings.
Tickets for Green Feast are $180 per person for members of the Ecology Center; tickets for nonmembers are $225. Membership starts at $50 per person. Learn more by contacting the center at (949) 443-4223. Nonmembers can buy tickets either by calling the Ecology Center, or online at theecologycenter.org.
