Ellis Simani is a former Metpro trainee with the Visualization and Data Desk. A 2017 graduate of Claremont McKenna College, Simani joined the paper from the Seattle Times, where he was a digital and interactives intern. Prior to that, Simani honed his skills in cleaning, analyzing and visualizing data at ProPublica’s Data Institute. He is passionate about using his work to encourage civic education and participation. Born and raised in Seattle, he spends most of his spare time exploring on his bicycle.
