Scott Pompe has served as vice president and general manger of Tribune Direct – Western Region since November 2005 and was also named vice president of Targeted Media Revenue in May 2008. His responsibilities include growing Tribune’s direct marketing business in Southern California while synergizing with the Los Angeles Times, synchronizing and championing targeted media sales efforts by category, and creating cross-platform, integrated packages for clients.
Prior to coming to Los Angeles, Pompe was vice president of business development at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and oversaw the Journal Sentinel Direct and Journal Print Group in addition to the sales operations of Journal Interactive. Under his leadership, the three strategic business units expanded the company’s traditional customer offerings to include online retail, classified advertising packages, shared mail, solo mail, database services and all commercial printing efforts.
In 1996, Pompe was senior account executive with leading direct mail media company ADVO and was previously a database manager for Sundance Broadcasting.
Pompe has been involved with the National Target Market Coalition since its inception, and has served as its vice president and later president. He also has a seat on the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) with the USPS. In December, 2005, was named as one of Presstime Magazine’s “20 Under 40” emerging leaders and has a BA in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
