LOS ANGELES — LG Electronics USA has been named the official kitchen appliance partner for the upcoming culinary spectacular, Los Angeles Times and Food & Wine's THE TASTE, taking place Sept. 2-5. As part of the exclusive sponsorship, LG will provide four premium LG kitchen suites to be used by distinguished chefs from around the country who will dazzle guests with top culinary talent, exciting cooking demonstrations and outstanding cuisine.

The LG Kitchens at THE TASTE will feature the company's newest super-capacity 3-door French-door refrigerator with the largest capacity in its class and cutting-edge innovations to help keep food fresher, longer (model LFX31925); 30-inch electric induction cooktops with four cooking elements (model LCE30845); built-in double wall ovens with a gourmet recipe bank and LG's innovative InfraGrill™ technology, which incorporates an infrared heating element for faster and juicier cooking results (model LWD3081); and over-the-range microwaves with LG's Extenda™ Vent and warming lamp technology (model LMH2016).

THE TASTE marries two Los Angeles food festivals. In 2010, The Times and FOOD & WINE each held separate events over Labor Day weekend: the "Los Angeles Times Celebration of Food & Wine" and "The Taste of Beverly Hills," where LG served as the official appliance sponsor providing premium kitchens suites for use throughout the festivities of the event. This year, the best of both events has been combined, creating THE TASTE, a four-day foodie feast, spanning three Los Angeles locations: Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown L.A.

"Throughout THE TASTE, professional chefs will cook up a host of culinary wonders using some of LG's latest kitchen appliances and technologies, showing everyday home chefs how a great recipe and the right tools can lead to 'something better' in the kitchen," said Ellis Mass, director of brand communications for LG Electronics USA Home Appliances. "We are thrilled to once again sponsor this exciting and highly anticipated Los Angeles culinary celebration."

Whether entertaining for a large group or a simple family dinner, LG offers an impressive array of award-winning kitchen appliances, all blending powerful performance, convenience features, energy efficiency and sleek designs. They include a full line of gas, electric and induction cook-tops, built-in wall ovens, over-the-range microwaves and French-door and side-by-side refrigerators that help to enhance consumers' everyday lives.

"Striking the perfect balance of smart technology and stylish design, LG appliances help make kitchens more spacious, more convenient and simply better for the home chef," said Christina Grdovic, vice president and publisher, FOOD & WINE. "Our celebrity chefs at THE TASTE will appreciate the professional features and performance of these decked out LG kitchens, showing foodies how to get the most from their recipes at home."

From Rodeo Drive, to The Studios at Paramount, to Downtown L.A., THE TASTE is a four-day food and wine extravaganza, celebrating all things epicurean. The unprecedented event will showcase a star-studded cast of celebrity chefs at nine signature events over Labor Day weekend. Each of the signature events are all-inclusive and offer everything from unlimited tastings of delectable chef creations from a selection of 200 of the top L.A. restaurants participating, plus unlimited tastings from some of the top wineries, breweries and distilleries, to amazing demos by celebrity chefs, live musical entertainment, fascinating panel discussions and much more.
