Protesters defy curfew, chanting: ‘We ready. We ready. We ready for y’all’

Live from the scene as Ferguson’s midnight curfew takes effect.

In Ferguson, Mo., just after midnight Sunday, Times reporter Matt Pearce observed the scene as police and protesters faced off.

As midnight came and protesters remained in the street, he retweeted protesters' defiance:
