The father of a bride who went missing during his daughter’s wedding reception more than a week ago has been found dead, according to the Sacramento County Coroner.

Prasad Moparti, 55, was attending his daughter’s wedding Feb. 13 at Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, when he walked away and never returned. Authorities searched for him for three days, before calling off the search.

Nearly a week later, a boater reported a body floating in the river. The Sacramento Bee reported that the body was found in Steamboat Slough, about five miles south of where the wedding was held.

At the time he went missing, his daughter, Durga Moparti, told Fox40-TV that family members saw him walking down a road and believed he was going for a casual walk. She said he had been participating in wedding activities and appeared to be happy, the news station reported.

Family members told the Bee that he was an “avid walker” who managed apartments back in India.
