Man pointing gun at bystanders in Pasadena arrested after police deploy canine
Pasadena police arrested a 26-year-old man Sunday after he brandished a gun at people in a residential neighborhood, authorities said.
Police responded to reports of a man pointing a handgun at passersby in the 700 block of South Orange Grove Boulevard about 7 a.m. Sunday, said Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman. Officers found the suspect hiding in the frontyard of a home on an adjacent street, Markham Place.
Jordan Creger, 26, of Wildomar in Riverside County refused to surrender. After negotiating with the suspect for about half an hour, officers deployed a police dog, who engaged Creger briefly while officers took him into custody, Goodman said.
Police searched the area and found a loaded gun. No one was hurt, and police found no evidence that the gun was fired, Goodman said. Creger was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a firearm.
Police are still trying to determine why Creger was pointing a gun at people and what he was doing in the neighborhood, Goodman said.
