405 Freeway reopened in both directions in North Hills after report of a bomb threat, police say
The 405 Freeway in North Hills was reopened in both directions Sunday afternoon after police shut down a portion of the freeway for more than an hour to investigate a bomb threat.
Just after 1 p.m., officers closed a section of the freeway just south of Roscoe Boulevard for “police activity,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Michele Bond.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad was dispatched to the scene to investigate a report of an explosive device.
The freeway was reopened in both directions about 2:40 p.m. after CHP officers took an individual into custody, Bond said.
